Hi Paul, thanks for your comment! Don't be afraid to occasionally use apple cider vinegar as a condiment. While I wouldn't recommend that it be a staple of your diet, especially if it's not suited for your Metabolic Type, the main point here is to not use it as a health or weight loss supplement.

Another great one! I like to marinate my chicken with apple cider vinegar and olive oil...never thought of it as something that was going to make me lose weight....and it doesn't look like I will be doing that anytime soon either! Thanks Vin for another great one!

Hi Melissa, thanks for the comment and thanks for sharing your experience!

Are you familiar with Metabolic Typing? A large part of the individuality that this philosophy is based on relates to blood pH. It suggests that the body's control systems, particularly the autonomic nervous system and oxidative system, have a much greater influence on pH than metabolized food ash. For example, the ash that remains from digested meat or dairy may be acidic, but the process of oxidizing these foods has an alkalizing effect that is more significant.

For anyone who hasn't already, I highly recommend you visit Dr. Wood's site at www.melissawood.com.

Great post, Vin! It is important that your readership understands that there is NO quick-fix to weight loss. You did an excellent job of pointing this out in this article.

Also mentioned, was the acidic nature of vinegar. As a Naturopath, one of the things I see most often is patients with "too much acid" in their body. This results in many different health problems that I see. Unfortunately, as a society, we are constantly being bombarded by consuming too much acid (dairy and too much meat) and not enough alkaline foods (fruits and vegetables). Adding regular consumption of vinegar in our diet to lose weight quickly, is not in our best interests to achieve a greater level of health.

As you clearly mentioned in your article, true successful weight loss will always happen when dietary and lifestyle habits are reviewed and changed.
