The Joke of Modern HealthIn the spirit of April Fool’s Day, I’m going to discuss a serious topic that many of us wish was just a joke, but really isn’t.

The majority of today’s mainstream health knowledge is filled with misinformation, contradiction, and even intentional deception. This has a significant impact on our health, and at times, it’s so unbelievable that it really could seem like an awful joke.

It took me a long time to realize that most common knowledge is often incorrect, particularly in regards to health. If it weren’t for my critical nature and my tendency to persistently seek truth, I may have never realized it, and some people never do. Coming to this realization and having the confidence to question common knowledge is one of the most important things you can do for your health.

Not Convinced About Organic Food?

Smashed EggDespite the undeniable evidence supporting the superiority of organically farmed food, many people are still not convinced enough to buy it. If you’re one of them, there are several tests you can try at home that are likely to change your mind and increase your appreciation for organic food.

Not all benefits of eating organic food are immediately apparent, and as such, it’s understandable why people are hesitant to spend the extra money on it. However, if you go about it the right way, buying organic food is not as expensive as you may think. But regardless of the cost, the following tests will hopefully convince you to buy organic based on principle alone.

Health or Profit?

Like any other industry, the food industry is primarily concerned about making money. That may sound harsh and hard to believe, but when you think about it, it’s really not. The tobacco and alcohol industries don’t seem too concerned about helping to kill hundreds of thousands of people each year.

This precedent set by the tobacco and alcohol industries makes it easy for the food industry to prioritize profit in a way that significantly affects our health. However, food is essential for health and survival. Contamination of this basic requirement for life has significant consequences that are far more subtle than those resulting from alcohol and tobacco use.
