I would love to know your thoughts on Maca root.
I've researched it as best as I can and it claims to give the hormones more of a balance as it's an adaptogen. It works on the hypothalmus gland.
I'm going into menopause and I don't want to go near any hormones (bio identical or not). I just feel, as you do, that it's "not nice to fool Mother Nature" and I think adding hormones could be dangerous. Healthy people who live in underdeveloped parts of the world seem to do fine and they are not smearing hormone creams on themselves. Our Paleolithic grandmas didn't go to compounding pharmacies. Maca comes from Peru and helps with libido for men and women. It also has other benefits. Do you know anything about this?
