"Some people would rather deal with the discomfort of disease and die early rather than give up their bad habits."

Except... most people *don't* die early from chronic health problems. They stick themselves in their final 20 to 30 years of pain, discomfort, and mental deterioration. And we get to foot the bills here in Canada! So no, it's not fine just because you dun waaaanna change, even though you know you're harming yourself. You're harming many others (family, friends, neighbours) in the process.

In general though, this article is great to get someone started on thinking more about how they can achieve better health :). And definitely a good reminder for someone who hasn't been reading up in a while.

I really think 80:20 is the best way to go with life, I really notice when the difference when I eat too much wheat or have too much milk I feel awful and my health suffers too. I recently had a holiday where I wasn't sticking to my 80:20 rule and I've come back with a really sore throat and all my glands are up and I feel awful. I feel like my body is telling me It cant cope with that lifestyle.
So I've decided I need to return to my 80:20 ways again, reading your posts have motivated me completely !

Thanks !!

Fantastic article and such a delight to hear common sense for a change.
Glad that I stumbled upon this website by chance.
Stick with organic and natural wherever possible...and don't beat yourself up if you slip up now and then; adds to the stress.
There's great organic and biodynamic wine, beer and spirits too.
Keep it well within your 20% if you still enjoy a tipple!!!

Great information. I am working hart at being gluten, dairy, and processed sugar free. My greatest difficulty is when I go on vacation.
