Hi John, thanks for your comment! I feel sorry for Nadal too and agree that he's certainly had his claim to fame already, but don't give up on him yet. I'm sure he'll come back with a vengeance and I won't be at all surprised if he regains the number one ranking. However, the question is how long he'll be able to stay at the top of the game with his physically demanding style of play, especially if he doesn't make some changes to relieve his body from some of the punishment.

Great post, Vin. The incident with Nadal demonstrates that it's not all about willpower and work ethics. Other matters factor into your chance for success. However, I do feel really sorry for Nadal. The body does indeed have its limits and he realized that a little too late.

At least he had his momentary claim to fame.

Well said Vin. If busy parents can get their kids away from TV and it's commercials the task will become much easier.

Thanks for your comment, Ken! I agree and think it would be great for young kids to learn the basics of healthy living. Unfortunately, much of what they'd need to learn contradicts conventional wisdom (i.e. the Food Pyramid) and is unlikely to be taught in schools. As such, the job is left to the parents who I think should be teaching healthy habits regardless of what is taught in school. Fortunately, most schools do offer a health class which gets kids thinking about the subject and is at least a start.

Living a healthy lifestyle is so important Vin, we are only passing through once. It should be a larger part of the education system starting in grade school.

Helpful blog and worth a Stumble and a link to.
